Has anybody had success with alternative treatments for ocd?
Has anyone tried alternative treatments for ocd/bipolar? I don't like putting all these drugs in my system
accupuncture pressure, magnets, etc.Clarification I am NOT going off my current meds I have been medicated for years and just want to believe there is something out there that works better as I can tell you first hand, my illness has been largely treatment resistant. And while they're generally thought to be safe, I do have to have my liver checked with my current bipolar med.
Treatment for OCD and how it may affect me and my family?
I have mild obsessive compulsive disorder OCD and have since I was about 5 years old. It could have been earlier then that but I don't remember. It's not enough for people around me to notice, but in my head and my thoughts it's very bothersome to me. One of the obsessions I have is I worry that if I go get help that they will think I am crazy and take my 6 month old son away. I take very good care of him, and no one would even know I have this problem. The only way it has manifested onto him is I worried excessively about SIDS Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and would spend a lot of my time crying about the possibility however small it was. I have gotten better with it, but now my OCD has turned to food. I seem to be using it as a coping mechanism for my OCD. I want desperately to get help, but at the same time my OCD is keeping me from it by making me think " What if they think I am crazy and take my baby away." In my head I know I am being irrational. But I can't help but think this way. Do you have any advice for me? I don't care if trolls respond, I just hope I get one good answer.
Best treatment for OCD?
I have suffered OCD for 7 years. I have tried counselling and a brief stint on prozac. Neither of these have helped me. I am open to trying a different form of medication.Does anyone know how effective Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is?I so need to try some effective medication and or therapy. Thank you for your time

Does anyone know of any alternative treatments for OCD?
I have OCD obsessive compulsive disorder , and am currently taking Zoloft 250mg daily and Xanax as needed for anxiety. The Zoloft helps a bit, but not a whole lot. I started out on Luvox and it worked great for about 10 months, then lost its potency altogether. I have also tried Paxil, Prozac, and several anti psychotic medications. I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions for prescription medications, herbals other than St. Johns Wort , or anything else that might help. I am 36, female in central Florida and do not know of anyone near here who specializes in OCD. Anyone with any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

is there a way to get rid of the OCD thoughts in my head like some herbal or natural way besides the medical optionit distracts me while studying and during exams i may take the medicine after final exams

I'd like to know about either the specific drug treatments or detail into cognitive behaviour therapy. I know a little about both, but I don't know if the drugs are standard anxiolytics or what CBT for OCD exactly entails.

I am suffering terribly from OCD. My family has no money to pay for therapy so does anyone know what I can do?
